Dentistry

Our hospital provides high quality dental care, including dental cleaning, dental radiographs that can identify disease below the gumline, as well as dental extractions if recommended.

Dentistry

Dental disease can be an important contributor to the development of health problems in pets, including heart disease and kidney disease. Most pets have periodontal disease by age 3. Signs of dental disease can include bad breath, abnormal chewing, discolored teeth, drooling, pain, swelling, or decreased appetite.

Dentistry

We carefully examine the teeth during our physical examinations to identify tartar on the teeth, gingivitis, and other issues in the mouth such as broken/loose/damaged teeth, discolored teeth, and oral masses. If any of these issues are noted, a more thorough oral exam and dental cleaning under anesthesia will be recommended. Once anesthetized, a full-mouth exam and dental x-rays are performed. Dental x-rays help to identify disease that is located below the gumline and can be causing pain or infection. Any recommended treatments or extractions can be performed by our doctor, while your pet is being closely monitored by our staff.
